How To configure FT on a Nested Virtualization

Create a cluster with VMware EVC enabled


 Since am using Intel i7 3700K will be using Intel Westmere generation 

Add the hosts to the cluster, & create virtual machines

 Am using a single iSCSI SAN storage 

 Configure Network as shown below
Optional configuration redundant path for both management & iSCSI traffic

 After configuring configuring network, Enable HA.

Since this is a nested lab
To Enable FT on a VM , three settings need to done on all VM's .

replay.supported = “true”
replay.allowFT = “true”
replay.allowBTOnly = “true”

In the advance option of an esxi host disable vMotion streaming

Enable FT on a host VM

A successful enabled vm will look like below 

Below are few logs when one of esxi host was not reachable.

   
You can see below screen which only few ping loss found when host failed & FT enabled
